Hi Aimee,   We would code by the medical history when it relates to Principle Dx, but in some cases we code  by Acute Vs Chronic conditions, coz most of the conditions were inter-related with the medical history.  The basic guidelines in ICD-9 would be much helpful for you.  Thanks Prabha    

Hi friends,   I am going to have my CPC exam on Aug,2, 2009.I came to know that passing each section is not a mandatory from Jan 1, 2009, the exam pattern has been changed to overall 70% to pass the exam.  Is that true?   Any Insights would be greatly appreciated. Regards Prabha
