• Re: Customer service

This just confirms once again that medical care in today's world is really about the bottom line and is a customer based business and the 'ol mighty dollar. The surgicenters, hospitals, etc. are owned by mega-sized corporations and that is ALL ''they'' care about.

  • Re: The John Ritter story, a nurse's perspective

The frustration you feel over this may likely come from other issues you are experiencing in the field of nursing. It is a litigious society we live in. Please keep in mind that other professions are riddled with this as well. Anyone can sue anyone for nearly anything. Even selling a piece of property can bring a lawsuit. The buyer ...

  • Re: disturbing sexual behavior of female nurses

Dutchie, I can't speak for others but I don't think this thread was about ''all nurses'' being inappropriate. Unfortunately there is probably far too much inappropriate activity that occurs. I totally agree with you that men and women do not enter the field of nursing to view others' genitals. I don't think that implication is ...

Bluehaven: You are accusing people of signing in as others and making accusations of being a Ms instead of a Mr.? Stirring up trouble? Seems you should perhaps read your posts. I don't see others or Mr. Benson being nasty. They are expressing their opinions with class. Mr. Benson, and other men like him, surely won't think any better of female ...

Carla Young: From what I'm reading I don't believe any of you work in the nursng profession. It makes me very sad that you all seem to think this is a typical attitude with all nurses. Let me assure you, the nurses you speak of are the exceptions. Most nurses do try to conduct themselve professionally. Also most nuses care very deeply for ...

  • Re: disturbing sexual behavior of female nurses

Kay Feld, I have been reading allnurses website and I can honestly say that I am shocked with the attitude of OR nurses on the blogs, especially discussing bioethics issues. They are arrogant, demeaning, and simply have absolutely zero understanding of respect and dignity of patients' feelings of modesty, etc. I am very bothered. They also ...

  • Re: disturbing sexual behavior of female nurses

Kay, I think from my previous posts you know how I would respond to this scenario. It is absolutely horrid that healthcare personnel conduct themselves this way. And the comments from the other nurses on the discussion is ridiculous! I hope the old saying what goes around comes around comes true with these people. No one deserves to be ...

  • Re: disturbing sexual behavior of female nurses

I totally agree. It is a macheavellian approach. Their eyesight is myoptic and their mindset and thinking is skewed. There is an interesting blog on the allnurses website. It is by ''fagley'' #141 under the thread about male nurses working OB. Great lengthy discussion from folks both male and female pertaining to these issues of ...

  • Re: disturbing sexual behavior of female nurses

A post note with regard to photos in the OR. There are standard forms routine used for surgery that have in small print: I hereby consent to the pressence of other person(s) for observation. I hereby consent to the use of video-taping, or photography. I think few people are aware that these statements are in the long consent form of 17 ...
