I would add invest in ear plugs and a sleep mask.  All the ''little'' noises may bother you plus it helps darken the room with the mask.  I use both and a sound machine.  They all really help!  And don't worry you will still hear the smoke detector.  

Can you transfer to another floor or another location (if there is more than one)?  Did you talk to management about your concerns?  You have to do what you need to to protect YOUR license, even if it means quitting, after proper notice of course.  Does your state allow anyomous reporting of impaired nurses?  Even if not he ...
