Is anyone using the green top Greiner lithium heparin (with gel) tubes for chemistry?  Are you experiencing a problem with the gel not settling properly during centrifugation ?  Gel seems to float in the plasma and causes huge issues with the chemistry analyzers. 

They can range from 5.8 to over 6.  The specimens are not refrigerated, not re-spun.  Patients do not have I.V.'s as we are an outpatient facility and therefore no transfusions either.  I've thought about draw order to the point we actually purposely drew 30 in the wrong order and all the K+'s were fine.  Thanks for the ...
