• Re: Do you feel your board of nursing is working for you?

i do not like the newruling in va about the cut-off deadline of dec 2009. i think that if you are already a lpn and have > 10 yrs of experienc that the bd should allow distacne learning. i am very disappointed b/c i have talking to rue about going back to school. i am a single parent and i need to have income and can not afford to go to a ...

  • Re: lpn-rn

I AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THE DIFFICULTY OF LPN'S GOING ON TO BECOME RN'S. I HAVE LOOKED INTO THE ONLINE PROGRAMS AND THEY PROMISE TO GIVE LPN'S A LOAN. BUT THEY WANT YOU TO START PAYING BACK THE LOAN IN 30 DAYS. I CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE ON ANOTHER PAYMENT OF 160+ DOLLARS PER MONTH. I AM A SINGLE PARENT. I HAVE 10+ YEARS EXPERIENCE AS A LPN. I HAVE TO ...

  • Re: RE:Nursing shortage

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. I HAVE BEEN A NURSE FOR 13 YEARS AND I CAN WORK CIRCLES AROUND A LOT OF THE RN'S OF TODAY FAR AS PT CARE. THEY ARE NOT TAUGHT PT CARE LIKE WE WERE. THEY ARE TAUGHT ADMIN CARE. I THINK THAT WE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO CHALLENGE THE BOARDS OR CHALLENGE A TEST OF SOME SORTS. WE COULD PASS IT!!!!

  • Re: lpn= RN

I have been an LPN for 13 1/2 yrs and I agree with you very much. I have seen and done a lot more things and have a lot more experience than a big portion of the RN's that i have worked with have done. I think that when a LPN has 10 plus years experience in more than 1 area that he/she should be able to take a test to qualify them to sit for ...

  • Re: Are LPNs School Nurses?

IN THE STATE OF VA. THERE ARE LOTS OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS THAT HAVE LPN's. THEY ARE LABELED AS '' THE SCHOOL NURSE'' NOT A SPECIAL NEEDS NURSE.

  • Re: wages

I WORK IN A NSG HOME IN EMPORIA AND THE LPN'S MAKE 15.00 PER HR. THE HOSPITAL PAYS MORE THAN THAT. I DO NOT WORK FOR AN AGENCY. THIS AMT IS FOR DAY SHIFT. THE OTHER SHIFTS GET MORE THAN THAT AMT.
