    Daniel, It sounds more like an &quot;Excuse-not-to-pay-up Policy&quot; rather than a &quot;do-not-pay&quot; policy. And I think your hunch is correct, that the &quot;experts&quot; would catch all kinds of reasons not to pay. After all, that would be their job...and there would be quotas to catch....

    Hi, &nbsp; I'm late responding to this, but here's my two cents. In reality, the gum would have posed no issues with the the thyroid study. However, the physician is ultimately responsible for the exam. If there would ever be any cause for litigation, then the physician would have to prove that the gum caused no problem.
