• Re: What kind of patient are you?

Once on the website- blog go to ''patient modesty'' It is now in volume 21 soon to move into volume 22! And you gals think 'men' don't care about modesty and preferring same gender healthcare for intimate procedures! Think again.

  • Re: What kind of patient are you?

Yes, a patient is a patient and a patient is a real person with feelings. Not the gallbadder in room 3A! I urge all nurses and healthcare workers to spent some time reading the blog about how people feel once they are in the hands of a healthcare facility. It sheds true light on how nurses and techs should respond to people's feelings, ...

  • Re: Bioethics Discussion Blog

The new blog about the nursing students giving each other bed baths links the patients' feelings and same/opposite gender intimate care. Go to the bioethics blog and read. Men on this blog absolutely hate to have intimate care given by the opposite sex. Unfortunately, most men don't speak up. The blog site in now in Volume 10. Very ...

  • Re: Bioethics Discussion Blog

Hernia Exams: not to post the entire blog, but the problem in society and the healthcare field is that it is assumed that males don't have issues with female healthcare workers and genital exams and treatments. Many men do take offense to it and don't communicate their feelings. This really needs to be addressed. It is acceptable for women ...

  • Re: disturbing sexual behavior of female nurses

Steve is correct. Nurses, I believe, are insensitive to the patient's feelings. Many patients don't speak up when it clearly is a concern. They feel they have lost control and are in an environment where their rights have been taken and must follow what they are told to do. Nurses and doctors assume far too much. Patient's right and preference on ...

  • Renewing License in CA

An article in the LA Times (CA) noted that to renew a license for those originally licensed prior to 1990 you are going to be required to be finger printed along with listing convictions/outcome. This is due to some degree of nurses molesting patients. There was a cited case of a male nurse in prison and he renewed his license from ...
